Double Trouble

Movies also use doubles as a way to create characters to look like another. For example in The Parent Trap(the original one) the actress played both of the twin girls. In order to do this however, the producers had to hire a girl who looked similar to her, not necessarily just like her, to play the other twin when the scene required her to act as both twins. The double was used in order for the actress to act off of someone else, instead of staring at and trying to gage emotions off of nothing. This was a crucial role to play, even if the double was edited out, because without her, the actress would have no emotions to go off of and it would be very hard to play off of and act off of something that wasn’t there. I think that it would be interesting playing a double of someone, in order for someone to play off of my emotions and reactions. I also think that it’s interesting that the double is someone who just looks like them somewhat and with the magic of technology and editing, they are now able to double a person. The double of the actor or actress is an important role in movies, just so they can make the acting genuine.
