Fully Doubled

The last set of twins I wanted to focus on were the Olsen twins. The Olsen twins, Mary Kate and Ashley, are most famous for their performance in the 90s show Full House. Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen shared the role of Michelle Tanner, yes they SHARED the role. At such a young age, there are restrictions on how many hours a company can work a child actor or actress. With the use of twins however, their time doubled because they are able to work with each of them for an extended period of time. Mary Kate and Ashely were indistinguishable at the young age when they started filming Full House, in fact I’m 90% sure they started out them they were only a handful of months old or so. One character was able to be played by two different people so technically, Michelle Tanner has a double. There were some scenes when both Mary Kate and Ashley were acting in the same scene, which makes it easier on produces and editors because instead of editing the scene like there are two of the same individual, you just use two separate actors. Twins make the entertainment industry for child actors specifically more efficient as well as mesmerizing the audience because who doesn’t find it fascinating when two people look exactly the same.
